…don't know: I've sent the first file out monday evening.
So I reckon someone els, some where is very bizzy at this very moment?
…I'll put up a fresh pic with some (minor) alternations I made before sending it out.
Hopefully we could come to a final decision during this week and put it in Vaughan hands to get PCNA (Porsche Cars North America, Inc.) approval?
Edit One:
I've been busy: Update will be later today…

I see you've let the ‘RTFFAQ’ go. Nice one, Lionman.
So, where we at? Here's a little history:
(GIF loop, 128KB)
Last week I got some feedback (thanks) and made some modifications in the design. Normally I would discuss this in person at my/your desk, but since we're all glued to this board, I've made it visible in GIF. I hope you're able to follow:
(GIF loop, 36KB)
(I won't be the one producing the shirts and the white print on a black T is just an example)
Please let ‘us’ know what you think of it and we'll “GIT'R DONE!”

Nope, RTFAQ long sleeve shirt is available at the link above. The art came out great, and the shirts look fantastic. _________________ Toofah King Bad

Harm,
Maybe we can setup a 'save on shipping from the us' Dutch group buy?

Hi Duncan,
Or even better… we setup a euro groupbuy? (How many would that be? Or get them produced here?)
I had the impression that once the design was set to Vector, the T-shirts ordering/production should follow soon. Having talked to Skemcin I know that he's been very busy. I'm sure he will look into it as soon as he can, and notify us of his plans.

Harm,
It makes much more sense to produce them locally .
I still would prefer a hooded sweatshirt or a poloshirt, as I never wear T-shirts other than as underwear.

Sorry, I too have been very busy.
The guy who needs to coordinate the PCNA approval of the design is Bobby Dodd, as he is the official PCA 924/931 Register Rep.
I'll forward the thread to his attention... sadly we're all so busy these days... _________________ Vaughan Scott

When you guys , the artwork committee of 924.org, have decided on the final submissions then I can officially give them to PCA first, as PCA legal has already went through this process on most of the PCNA region trademark violations.
I can tell you from first hand experience as region secretary of Cimarron region that you can skip using the Porsche font, badge and trademarked images already used by Porsche. Including the "there is no substitute phrase".
I wont discourage submitting any artwork but emphasize original concepts as those would have the greatest success.
There are 2 parts of this issue in my opinion.
924.org has been sanctioned as the official North American Fan site and user group for PCNA.
924.org hasn't sought out any status from PorscheAG.
I think the first course is to pursue what we can through PCNA via PCA. Also at this point inquire for contacts within Porsche AG to pursue further world wide status.
Then we could pursue a letter of intent and also seek a license on the use of the obvious Porsche trademarked and copyrighted material from Porsche AG.
This is where 924.org in its long time presence as a fan group and many world wide members could help. Does anyone have a Porsche AG contact that could be utilized?
In the meantime I will reread the topic discussion . _________________ Bob Dodd - 924turbo@cox.net

Hello all,
today Porsche called me back and i talked with Mr.Alexander E. Klein head of worldwide porsche club marketing.
I explaind to him what we like to do, who we are and so on....
It seems to be very simple: He said to me send me your layouts and /or design drawings ( Finalized!) He makes a decision and give a offical letter of approval for the choosen design.
So, who is the man to take that part? Harm,Zuffen or 924 racer ?

…I'd prefer Zuffen (Bobby Dodd) to contact Mr. A. Klein because he is closer to the base of this board, the 924.org, …also Englisch/German are both not my native language: I'm just a pawn in the T-shirt game.

Finalized: You mean vector plus an ‘on-T-shirt-artist-impression’?
Collect it in a PDF document, and send it to Zuffen?
OK; No problem, but…

So, we probably need a substitute for the "there is no substitute" phrase, and kill the ‘Porsche’ word. …Or we could do that after the first rejection? (If sending it in isn't to much work for you, Zuffen?)
New ideas please for final submissions!? _________________ Porsche 924 NA 1982 LY7A/A3A3 _ Greater driving pleasure never harmed anyone. |
