Some of you guys may remember the Holbert 931 I sold in December. Here's a thread about that car http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=25918 The pics are no longer up for some reason.
Anyways, I'm always trolling craigslist for deals and I found a 1980 931 that was too cheap to pass on. It's another non-runner but I hope to get it back on the road like I did with the other car. The guy selling it has had it for a year and he knows nothing about it. It came with the house he bought. The last smog was done in 2003 and the tags are from 2005 so it's been sitting for at least 4 years. My last 931 was sitting for about 6 years so this one should be no problem right! Good news, the timing belt is intact, oil is clean and full, coolant is clean and full, has a newish K&N air filter, brake and clutch pedals feel ok, the body is in great shape with no signs of rust or body work and the car is complete. Bad news, nobody knows why it was parked, the interior is trashed and I'm not crazy about the creme color exterior. Funny thing is the owner said he's never even tried to start it. He's been remodeling the house and couldn't care less about some car in his way. I'll post some pics next week when I get a chance to tow it home.

Craig, what part of the country did the Holbert car end up going to?
Good luck with the new ride, let us know if you need help or parts for the restoration!!! _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

The Holbert car ended up in southern CA. A 40 something year old lady bought it and said she was going to fully restore it. If I can still contact her I'll see if I can get some pics. I'll let you know if i need any parts. I'm really worried that the G31 could be trashed, I'll find out soon! _________________ 1987 951- LS1 V8 -Sold

Towed the car home today! Good news, I jumped it when I got home and it actually runs! I took it around the block and it drives pretty good. I'm going to replace the timing belt and water pump before I put any miles on it though.
I was talking to the seller while waiting for AAA and they said the original owner of the car didn't really want to leave it. The guy was out of the area and just couldn't find time to pick it up, he reluctantly signed it over to the person that I bought it from. This guy never tried to start it and just sold it to me as a non-running, as is car! The interior is really bad but other than that I'm really happy with it. Here are a few pics.
And one of my old Holbert 931.

I'm diggin the air cleaner strap. But seriously clean exterior not too much in the way of rust or dents, I wish the interior of my 931 was trashed like that so i could gut the thing and start again.

Green tartan interior, you don't see that on a Civic. |
