Anyone ever seen these belts before?
http://www.rennbay.com/timing-belt-kit-kevlar-racing-belt-p-164.html

Is this belt suitable for daily driving?
And perhaps extended period before the belt needs to be changed?
It says its for racing but its also apparently 3x stronger than the OEM timing belt.

If you have personal experience with these belts, please let us know.

Thanks

Very interesting. . .I may be using these on my next FOES. Of course, with the material change, you can probably toss the factory tension specs out the window.

Looks like the balance shaft belt is a standard Gates.

I came across this a few weeks ago on rennlist. Some say it's not worth the extra money for the belt when you have to replace the water pump and pulleys every number of miles. And there is No guarantee if it does break they(the company making the product) will pay for the damage.

How many miles would you drive it before replacing it?

I am under the impression that you may re-use the belts when changing the WP and pulleys if the belt has yet to reach the end of its lifespan.

interested in the kevlar belts to prepare for the worst case senario. If you got the money, why not?

Kevlar or Schmevlar... or whatever...

If your water pump seizes up, it doesn't matter what the belt is made of...you are screwed, and your valves are bent.

Also doesn't matter if the balance shaft belt is still rubber, because when it breaks, the pieces will tangle the timing belt, and the odds are the timing belt is going to get thrown off with the predicable result.
