|

Hey everyone. I have one more question.
The oil separator (see pic) has a hose that attaches to the top. Where is that supposed to connect and what is its purpose? I almost have this car back on its wheels and running but there are a few little details like this one.
I don't currently have hose 18 and pipe 19 so figuring out this routing is challenging at best.
Thanks

No 924S experience here, but from general knowledge - the port at #43 would connect to a crankcase breather, port at #15 would connect to the oil pan to return liquid oil to the sump, and the one at #18 would connect to the airbox or some other point between the airbox and throttle body to re-route oil vapors through the intake.
So, look for an open or plugged port somewhere from the airbox to the TB that's appropriately sized. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

15 and 43 are correct. Would the re-breather hose affect the engine running correctly? If i understand that system correctly, not having the hose on would just be a smog issue not a performance issue. _________________ 924s - 1987 Not running |

Here's a pic of hose 18 and 19 (19 is really a steel pipe).
Running parallel to the intake runner, see how 19 (steel pipe) attaches the the intake boot. Even if this is plugged on your car, the fact that the air/oil seperator is open to atmosphere will affect the engine... it's like removing the oil cap with the engine running (makes it lumpy).
Hope this helps. |
