My mini die gringer has got me out of a few jams lately, particularly with stubborn exhasut bolts on the 951.

My two must-haves:

Phone: to call the guy who knows what I need to know

Laptop: Easiest way to carry my Workshop Manuals and the bottomless pit of helpful information (one of which is this forum).

1. IBM X23 with ultra-long life battery (I filled the old one with hi-capacity cells and reprogrammed the EEPROM in the battery to calibrate it correctly). It holds charge 6+ hours and the Bluetooth link between VEMS and laptop to make the connection wireless. I use it 99% for tuning cars so long battery life is a must.

2. Special pin crimper that does a spectacular job and does it fast.

3. Weller soldering station with precisely adjustable temperature range and heatr blower. I can solder pretty much ANY chip or component I want, I've done even some BGA chip mountings.

4. All the tool and beches my friend has in his sports-car manufacturing company (Lotus 7 replicas): TIG welders, lathes, mills, CNC machines, torches, sledgehammers etc But granted they're not mine, I can just use them anytime for free.

The Tech wrench because it reads in NM, In/Lb, Ft/Lb and reads the torque to one decimal place.

I'd say the coolest tool would be my Modis Elite scanner. I also have two welders, three different types of air compressors, all the air tools any good tech would have and air nailers, brad nailers and staplers..... the list goes on and on. But then, I do own an auto repair business, so I should have them all.

Coolest tool I own is probably:

1. Silent stubby ratchet (no clicks perfectly precise)
2. Vaporizer

My metric gear-wrench racheting wrenches. They have saved me so much time. I would say my compressor and air tools...but my compressor is getting old...and wont hold past 30psi...so i'm screwed in that department of things until i get a new compressor.

This isn't a cool tool but if you buy a 2 liter container of 60% alcohol sanitizing gel with a pump - it'll clean your hands of black grease faster than anything I've ever tried - faster and better than the orange stuff or any of the gritty stuff. It's not a tool but it's cool and it works.
