I would guess no, based on the packaging and the casting. _________________ Toofah King Bad

Definitely NOT A GENUINE Porsche Brand waterpump.
#1 Porsche waterpumps have a smooth finish without finish defects. Not as cast, rough finish as the one in the photo shows. You can see defects (voids) in the casting finish if you look closely.
#2 As already pointed out, the one in question does not come in a Porsche box.
#3 Porsche discontinued the NA waterpump style years ago. The only waterpumps Porsche sells is the Turbo style with the extra hole for the Turbo waterpump (used with a block-off plate on NA cars).
#4 Porsche Brand waterpumps have a gold anodized pulley. The one in the photo is silver.
One company has made aftermarket 2.5L waterpumps in the style shown in the photo for years. Poor quality casting show voids on the outside, and even in the seal areas for the hoses. Loose bearings on the pump shaft. This junk product is sold under MANY DIFFERENT BRAND NAMES.
Appears that the waterpump in the photo is another one of those. |

I've heard good things about the rebuilt ones from Zims. I think they're around $100, and I have never heard of a failure with them. I haven't tried one, but I will when my WP is due.
As always, your mileage may vary. _________________ Dan.

Curious,
The photo in the ad for the new waterpump is the same one for the rebuilt waterpump.
You can get a real genuine Porsche waterpump, or Porsche rebuilt waterpump with a Real Porsche 2-year warranty for less than $385. |

And the Porsche Warranty includes parts and labor to repair the damage if the pump fails, the belt (if it's Genuine) fails and the valves eat it as a result.
I trust Zims, but their warranty only gets you a replacement waterpump, and not the labor to install, or the other damage that happens. |
