Great time, great people and great beer! It was good meeting some new members, even if they were Canucks! Great beer DOCO! And many thanks to Dan for hosting the GTG and wrenching with me for a few minutes to dismantle my five lug parts to load in my Taurus. I had the pleasure of smelling PB Blaster for the 4.5 hr trip back to Indy, but well worth it!!! Now, time to play! Where's the pics???? _________________ Michael

Hahah, very funny! I only had...wait, I better not post that publicly!
So, here's who came out:
- Brian & Judi: they own a 944 cab but didn't bring it out cuz they live on a dirt road...but they're OK, they work the corners at Waterford Hills
Plus they brought a nice growler from a local Ann Arbor brewhouse!
- Vaughan & Merritt: two growlers (sorry Vaughan, you'll have to fill in the details here) and NICE beer bread with dips. Yum! Merritt, Judy and my wife Julie all seemed to somehow escape the photographer
- Todd: brought along the real deal Sasparilla. Vaughan and I are officially fighting over the rights to his fabrication expertise now
- Dave (a.k.a. DOCO): He told the customs agent he was only bringing in 24, but really had 48. And what good stuff it was too! Between the growlers and Dave, we were in no short supply of libations!
- Mike (a.k.a. mgadlag): I told my wife we wouldn't be wrenching yesterday, but Mike insisted on bringing the Taurus instead of the truck, and that rear torsion carrier just wouldn't fit fully assembled. Sorry about the PBBlaster, Mike!
- Alex (a.k.a. alexvex) and Meg: Alex came all the way from Lafayette IN, and stopped to pick up Meg in Fort Wayne. They made the three hour trip here by 2 PM.
- Larry & Barb: Not Porsche People per se, but Larry's my best bud, and he's contributed a lot of ideas and sweat and muscle to the ongoing UWB project...plus, anything to do with beer and fast cars, Larry has a habit of showing up!
Vaughan'll have to fill you all in on the micro-brews...there were four growlers in all courtesy of Vaughan, Merritt, Todd, Brian & Judi. In addition, we had Robert Simpsons amber ale, Anti Gravity Light Ale, Sleeman's Honey Brown, Sleeman's Cream Ale, Bell's Amber, and Newcastle Brown. I don't know who all brought what...but DOCO had a fun time at customs considering half the stuff he brought over didn't come from The Beer Store! Julie (my wife) also provided plenty of food...and I didn't realize until after everybody left we totally forgot about the hot wings!
Alex and Vaughan both brought their 931's out, but we never took any of mine out for a ride...too much fun in the "lounge" for that. Todd kept us entertained for a while with tales of Smart Cars and head winds and tiny turbos and trips on the Autobahn, and aftewards, we went down to the family room and watched Vaughan's recent adventures at ARRC on the big screen.

Meg can't believe Alex still wants to get out on the track after seeing Vaughan get t-boned

Glad you boys made it home safe...we got hit with some nasty weather today...
As for the next one, maybe around Memorial Day? We can reprise the 2005 GTG we did...a little BBQ and how about a nice road rally? _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Yeah, great to meet the new faces - Dave + Alex...
Brian and Judi's 944 isn't a cab, it's a regular 85.5 944... and they brought an IPA from Arbor Brewing Co. Todd brought the Turbo Sasparilla from Fort St. Brewing company (down his way), and I brought Corktown Red and St. Nicole's Weizenbock (a dark German bock beer).
Yeah, I would definitely second the motion for a summer GTG - though you did a perfect job picking the day! _________________ Vaughan Scott

I love the ben folds t-shirt, same one she wore when alex came to pick up the 931. To bad I never got to meet any of you guys in the area. The 931 never ran good enough to make long trips until I changed the filters a couple days before alex came to pick it up. Just my luck. Someday ill have another one. _________________ Darren
