|
|
Let's face it, my 924s handles spongy, sqeeks in the rear, and it clunks when it runs over the smallest stuff.
With that said, I really want to replace the suspension components. Since I have to get dirty in there, why not go M030?
My problem is that I don't know where I can get my hands on a fresh set of M030 components(maybe other than selling a kidney at the dealership).
Where can I find *fresh* M030 parts or the OEM equivalent of these parts? And hopefully all from one vendor.
I am talking struts, springs, torsion bars, sways, and bushings etc.
Thank you. _________________ 1987 Porsche 924S Black/Black. 5-spd.

The Paragon Products "suspension packages" are a pretty good deal. They are mainly for 944Cup/944Spec racers, but all the stuff you need should be there.
The "Spec 4" Package is for the 924S.

it looks like the only OEM equivalent in this package are the koni struts.
the sway diameters seem to be different, and the choice of torsion bar size and spring rates make this package all the more confusing.
I do appreciate the lookup though! _________________ 1987 Porsche 924S Black/Black. 5-spd.

Thanks for posting these links. I was hoping to find a reasonably priced package just like Paragon's. Definitely on my wish list.
I can't seem to get the 924S "Katalog" to load (.pdf file). Anyone have it saved on their harddrive?

try right-clicking and saving instead of just loading it into your browser _________________ 1987 Porsche 924S Black/Black. 5-spd.

You sure you want to reindex your t-bars?
It sounds to me like your suspension is just worn out. You might want to start out with something less labor intensive and see how you like it.
Example:
- Refresh control arm bushes (Prothane brand, look for "Golf/Rabbit Mark I," do NOT get Weltmeister) - $25
- Bilstein shocks and struts (Allshocks.com) - $400
- Lindsey 19mm rear sway (lindseyracing.com) - $150
- the largest front sway you can find from Ebay or a junkyard (partsheaven.com) -$75
I guarantee the car will handle awesome and TOTALLY unlike it does now, and you may be satisfied to stop there. It really is a bitch to get into t-bars, and you might not like the ride of the Spec suspension. _________________ Toofah King Bad

I have a couple of spare 23mm front sways floating around, one of each variety (solid early 924 style; tubular 944 style)... _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Why don't get Weltmeister control arm bushings? i have them on the rear of front, along with a 30 mm in the front and 19 in the back. _________________ 1987 924S - MO30 30/19 - Yellows all around |

Poor quality. . .keep an eye on them and you will see what I mean after you have run them for a while. _________________ Toofah King Bad
