Please note that the throw-out bearing and clutch disc from 911 canīt be used on 931. The preasure plate from 911 72-86 is the one, but there are different:

* All iron, like original 931 (Heavy!)
* Alloy housing, iron friction plate
* All alloy. (Very light and expensive!)

Check!

THe dude got back to me with the part number 915 116 001 27. Appears to be the correct number. Is it worth 299 bucks if only the pressure plate is used out of the kit? dave

No. You can get the correct pressure plate from this eBay seller for $199.

To add to what gegge posted, the all-alloy version requires modification to use in a 931, at least according to some posts floating around here by -nick and bass gt (I think this is the thread). The pressure plate to get is the middle one, the alloy+iron version. This version is a direct bolt up, but make sure you remove the ring gear from your old pressure plate.

And FYI, it provides double the clamping power of the stock unit, which is good for higher output situations. I don't know what this does to the pedal feel, and I don't know if this applicable to hydraulic clutch setups, but you may want to consider reinforcing the firewall where the clutch cylinder mounts up. I recently discovered two cracks in the firewall sheet metal around that opening on my UWB project, which was running just a stock setup. The only way to see the cracks is to remove the brake booster and all of the thick plastic heat shielding. Now would be the time to check it out.
