I own a 1979 924 and have been looking the past few days on finding where I can get the rims on this Carrera or atleast something similar.
I just bought the 924 about two days ago so I haven't really got into much yet at all. I have 15" wheels/rims on the car, so that is the size I'd be looking at.

The wheels on that picture is 16" Fuchs. The CGT came with 15" or 16" as an option. The 16" will fit your car and will look very, very good.

The problem is the price on theese wheels....

Oops...! I presumed you had a turbo..!

If you have a NA, you have the 4x100 bolt pattern, and they will not fit!
Original Fuchs were only produced with the standard Porsche 5x130 bolt pattern.

wrong.. 4 x 108

unless you do or already have the 5 lug setup then ide suggest looking into other rims... as far as i know these never came out in a 4x 108.

The 4x 108 is a bi7ch to get rims for..your best bet is to look at the 79 - 93 ford mustangs as these usually come in a 15 to 20 offset (what you want) in 8,9, or 10 inch rims. and a 4x108 pattern

If you want the fuchs you need to do the brake conversion...do a search youll find alot on it here

and dont foget with wider rims you may have to roll fenders or get GT flares

You are absolutely right! My mistake! 4x108 is correct.

You can buy a 924 parts car for the price of one Fuchs wheel. If it is a rare offset and width Fuchs, you could buy a very, very nice 924 for the same price. The other guys above are correct as well, you need the 5-bolt wheel setup before going to these rims.

Are there any wheels like this that would fit the 924?

Maybe some coockie cutters? Not sure if you can get them with your bolt pattern... They look a tiny, tiny, tiny bit like the fuchs wheels from a distance!

What about snow tires? It's not going to be too long before the streets turn white. I'd need to get ahold of some soon! If it helps I can post some pictures of my tires and wheels. Once I get home I'll measure them and post some images.

I'm going with these I think - they are similar, and custom fit.

Probably not without doing a 5- bolt conversion.

What would be some rather cheap rims, but yet good ones that would look good in a Fire Red?

In my opinion, the only wheels that look good in body color are the BBS deep dished basket weave (NOT the stock 924 basket weaves).

I have a set of perfect 6 and 7s Fuch with brand new track tires that I have not used. I don't like the PCA club here in Fl. I went to Homestead, Moroso, Daytona and Sebring. Sebring is the best.
Most of the club members sneer at anything that is not 911. I really don't care. I just did not have the desire to drive on these tracks yet. Main reason was I did not register the car although I have this week.
