Absolutely gorges!! Just plain WOW! Some serious engineering.

BUT, this part just pisses me off....

I had just one tiny little part of this beutiful creation (when I sold you some injector cups) and now you have robbed me of my glory by placing your injectors in the intake intead of the head!!!!!

Hey I was thinking while driving at work today.. next year Ill
try for the motor - cycle 1000 cc carb adaption trick. Entailing designing
some intakes for each carb nl figure out the linkage and find the right jet size.. want to get a GT front end for it too 924 style. I got
the color choice for the front end also .. . orange. I ll just cut the side skirts off at the end of the body by the door and run a angle back on it.

So, are we on track to get them in the stores by Christmas?

Very inspiring.

No, but i love liver with fava beans and a nice Chianti
If it is of interest, i might be able to get the CAD files for the machined parts. So if anyone wanted to copy my set up, they could do so without making the mistakes i did

That would be a good start, if you could save and post your CAD diagrams.

I know there is that place on the internet that if you send them CAD files will machine items.

I'm interested in the plenum set up, but would rather just have "simple" runners, if you know what i mean. Looks like the runners are 3 or 4 pieces.

It would be very easy to machine a flange, and have a single 45deg pipe connected into it. You could then either mount the injectors into the head with one of Todds kits, or weld injector pockets into the pipe. Then mount the pipe to a plenum chamber, fit a throttle, and off you go. The reason mine is segmented, is that it is made from standard Jenvey stock parts. Using these, and making the adapter flange the correct height, allowed me to lift the runners up, ala the GTR, get the correct clearance to clear the alternator, get the correct runner length ect. There is more to this as well. Under the plenum chamber, i am going to mount an oil to water heat exchanger, as i need to heat my oil up quicker.
However, the main reason i did this is to clean up the air flow into the head. As the injectors are upstream, it is very easy for the fuel to drop out of suspension, as it negotiates the original 120deg bend. This can happen at low air speed due to lack of velocity, and at high airspeed due to centrifical force. If you look at the GTR's, they did this too, with the mechanical injector place at the bend of the runner and facing backwards into the airflow, to maximise atomisation. To improve performance, we need to improve thr flow of the head. The 120deg bend is a major downside. If you look at modern motorcycles, the inlet runners go down into the head at little more than 15degs from vertical. This optimises cylinder filling, and performance.

You can get better atomization by using more modern injectors, like new Siemens Deka's or Bosch EV6 and up type (so called pencyl-style). Older style (like RC's, Rochesters etc) have crappy atomization and response.

Raceboy,

I'm fitting Siemens 660's pencil injectors. Should be much better.

Steve, any word on the CAD files for the machined intake parts? Plus whatever happened to the previous intake plenum?

Flosho,

I think the guy who did my original machining has either moved or gone bust as there is no one there now!! however, i do have a couple of spare flanges sitting about, so i could post some pics with measurments if that helps. However, all i did was measure the bottom end of the stock inlet system, and derived the dimensions from that.
Re the old manifold plenum, it's sitting in my unit somewhere!!
