Hi. I guess i'm a new member, sort of. I've been of Rennlist for a while now. But would just like to introduce myself on this board, and my car. She is a 1987 924S, in black. All I know that the previous owner has done is put Koni's on it, and he spent 12,000 thousand dollars into the engine, trany, suspension, ect. I have put 928 rims, new leather shifter, steering wheel, 944 style seats, recoverd all the interior panels in leather except for the dash, center console, and door panels. But those three are on there way. I really love my car, and hope some day it'll have an all leather interior.

Here are some pics.

Looks nice, I especially like the leather cover on the steering wheel (the one with the crest on it). Where'd you get that?

Welcome to the board, very very nice looking S! Once you get those new seats in there, it's going to be top notch for sure.

Thank guys! I got my leather horn pad cover from Robert Budd. He is a leather specialist for 928, 924, and 944 interiors. Here's his website http://www.928leathershop.com/. He does very nice work, just check out his gallery.

Hey - that's another 2-tone interior! Didn't somebody have a question about that being stock or special order or PO mods?

Isn't the dark brown and linen a common color in 924S?

Not brown & linen in that one...it's black and linen.

Guess I should chime in as well; my car's interior appears to be all stock and is dark brown and "linen". I'm kind of curious though, what materials are used in the car's interior? The dash and the tops of the door panels appear to be leather textured, but are they actually leather or just a textured vinyl?

That guy needs to just check his option codes.

cgalyon-In the 924S, nothing was leather, unless it was ordered with, Leather seats, leather steering wheel, and leather shift knob. The dash, door panel, rear quarter panels, ect, are are vinyl.

Ok, that's what I expected; as the "cheap model" I figured it would have minimal leather. However, the top of the door panels seems like an odd material and I know the steering wheel/shift boot are leather. I thought the seats are a combination leather w/ cloth centers, but I need to completely replace mine anyway, so I'm not terribly concerned with them. I did want to know about the dash and top of the door panels, though, as I'd rather not use Armor-all on leather.

Nope, the seats are vinyl and cloth. The door material is just vinyl. Haha, yea. Armor-All isn't the best choice, lol. I hope you can tell that the shift boot, and steering wheel is leather, lol. If you don't know, just post a picture of them, lawl.

Ok, thanks I think... here are some pics of my interior. It has a long ways to go, but I've seen worse.

Yea. You have a leather steering wheel, and shift knob. Lol, my interior looked exactly likes yours when I first got my car.
