im goin to be doin an engine swap on my 77 na and i think im goin to have to up grade the brakes
i was wonderin if i could use brakes off a honda civic or something casue they are the same bolt pattern

I think if you want to upgrade your brakes you're better off with the 944 brake setup. It's a 5 bolt all disc setup. It's a bit of work but the guys here swear by it.
The drum disc setup is good enough for me. For now anyway.

The biggest thin I noted when changing over to the 4 wheel discs is the pedal pressure to stop and the immediate reaction to the pedal.
My experience with the disc drum set up is that you need a bit more pedal travel before the brakes really bite. My system was always in good shape to.... so that was not the issue. (It was back when I was using a mechanic so he was always on top of it.) The disc set up has a nice firm pedal and immediate response from the pedal.
I have never done any race events so can not compare and contrast it there. Will leave that to others. _________________ 1982 924
