Bright yellow, with a double black stripe down the middle.
Maaco - you get what you pay for - a $300 paint job is just that. Would be OK if you have a pure track car that needs to painted every year anyway.
I got quotes from a few decent paint shops around here, and most wanted $4k-$5k to do it right, with a base and then a clear coat. One guy would do it for $2,500 if I took all the bodywork and trim apart and brought it in on a trailer ready to be prepped and painted.
A lot of body shops will not even do a straight paint job now, because they are so busy with repair/insurance work.

You should know that if you repaint your car a different color the market value will drop about 15-20%.
Not a concern if you plan on keeping your car forever, but if you plan of selling it, you should consider the consequences. |

As bcblase said, you get what you pay for when it comes to paint jobs. I had an MG that had a Maaco/Earl Scheib type paint job about a year before I bought it and about 4 years later, it needed new paint.
As for painting it another color, you mentioned white as on option. I have found that white gets dirty pretty quick. Silver, though not an eye-grabbing color, does a great job of hiding a dirty car. _________________ '87 924S |
