Our favorite 924Board Alumni is at it again. I know, I shouldn't say his name lest he appear, but I have an unhealthy obsession with his antics.

I swear, it is not me!!! I'll admit, I have speeding issues. I also have a radar detector. I've also never been caught speeding in my Porsche, only my daily drivers doing a fairly mild 10-15 km/h over the limit. I've also never complained about a ticket, or had one influence my insurance rates.

I like the part were he admitted speeding to the police officer (meaning, he's not longer innocent until proven guilty, he admitted guilt to the officer) So, no matter what he does, he will be found guilty, last time I went to court regarding a speeding ticket, every single police officer showed up, for every single case being heard. And the reports the police officers gave were extremely detailed down to how they calibrated their equipment that morning. He's screwed. And unfortunately for him, he's wrong about the 10 over thing. I hope he goes to court and the judge verbally impales him (I witnessed this last time I went to court also, brutal, so brutal I just admitted guilt right there and paid my fines on the way out).

He's very lucky I think. He admits to doing 170 in a 90. Let's say his speedo was off a little, which is very possible in a Porshce as we all know. He very well might have been doing 180 in a 90, that is double the speed limit which from what I understand shifts the violation from a highway traffic act issue to a criminal issue. Very serious.

yep, from my understanding, double the speed limit can mean a instant suspension and having your car impounded. Along with some jailtime.

I read recently that they've had such a problem with street racing along the 401 (between Windsor & Toronto) that the OPP have implemented a zero tolerance policy. I don't remember the exact details, but it was something like anything over 20 KPH the limit meant instant impoundment and suspension of driving privileges.

He might get spanked in court if someone points the police to his thread.

It's happened before!

I read that post; with that NIC and the obvious lack of logic, I figured it was some young pot head that just had no idea about reality.
Turns out it's some old head that never will.

Ok, lets clear a few things up.

1st, doubling the limit doesnt automatically put you into criminal areas of the law. This really depends on the cops mood, the conditions around you etc. I know a few who have been caught at more than double the limit, and they just got an excessive speeding ticket. Yet a couple others have been caught doing 40 over the limit and gotten driving with undue care and attention. So it REALLY depends on the cops mood.

The thing that Dan has pointed out about the 401, the way it is now is that if you are doing 50 kmph or more over the speed limit which is 100kmph, they instantly impound your vehicle, suspend your license for 7 days, and you have a ton of fines. upto and over $10k once all is said and done. They also iirc have jailed a few people. This is a provincal law and isnt just on the 401, it is thankfully restricted to ontario. And if that law makes it out here to BC, I for one would NEVER stop if I know they had clocked me at 50kmph or more over the limit. Esp knowing the policies of the police out here and how they will call off a chase if it goes over X speed

As to someone linking the police to that thread, that has happened a couple of times that I am aware of in a canadian court, and been thrown out as the words he wrote on the forum are not under oath and he could have exaggerated the circumstances.

I have seen a few cases where the police dont show up to court, and there are things you can do which increase those odds. I wont release that info, esp to Timmy. and I have also seen a JP rip a guy a new arsehole, pretty funny to see actually.

but yes you can get a ticket for 10 over the limit, you can get a ticket for 1kmph over the limit, it just rarely happens.

And a few people thought Tim and I were one and the same for awhile, thankfully BassGT has found the real timstar

Sorry Chrenan, couldnt resist letting out your secret identity.

OK, I'll admit it.

Chrenan = Timstar

But while I am being so honest, I have to drop another bomb shell for the old school members:

Rick MacLaren = Gohim

If we're lucky, that chucklehead will end up in the pokey...

The world would be a better place.
