|
|
Tried searching, but nothing specific and the haynes manual sucks for the 931 clutch... I'm very much a visual learner and pictures speak louder than words... but at this point, words would help..
I've looked at this bearing and i'm trying to make sure that I assemble it correctly... I have a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch kit w/ the Sachs pressure plate (painted orange and taged centerforce , they added some weights for extra clamping force though) anyway, what is the correct assembly order here are the parts that came with the bearing...
TO Bearing
3 thin washers
1 thicker washer with grove for the clip
1 lock clip
1 toothed washer

Same problem here!
When disassemblying old throwout bearing, there was in order,
simply the bearing,
wave washer,
then the pressure plate (fingers),
Thick grooved lock ring,
circlip.
However kit has 3 x extra seamingly spacer washers.
So this leads me to conclude there must be some sort of measureable tolerance for freeplay or tension. Any clues?
Workshop manual makes no mention, nor does the Haynes. _________________ 80/81 932/8 ROW |

IIRC.
From bearing or outside and in:
Regular thin washer(s)
Toothed washer (facing ouside of pressure plate fingers)
Washer with groove
and finaly the locking clip
There has to be some play so donīt make it tight.
Doesnīt we use the same bearing as the 944 crowd? _________________ Carl Fredrik Torkildsen

Gegge's assembly order is correct.
Keep stacking on spacers until the bearing doesn't move, then remove one (the last two I did took all the spacers). Don't forget to lube the fingers with a thin coat of high quality moly grease. _________________ Toofah King Bad

Thank you guys.....much appreciated! And where did you find this out?
It would be a bitch to overcompensate, and then have to pull it all out to rectify. _________________ 80/81 932/8 ROW |
