Not meaning to demean your effort, Min, but if I do EFI on my UWB project, it's going to cost me at least $2K. I think my application is a bit different than yours 
Still think this UTCIS deal is a worth a long hard look... |

I don't think I'll bother responding to this, I was considering posting a rant again, but its just not worth the time.

I think its worth a hard look for the people who for whatever reason are restricted from using a proper engine management system (class rules for example) so, for people like vaughan who are restricted. I think its great. Otherwise its just a band aid for proper engine management.
Things that are of course not mentioned in this, or the cost (which you of course have considered in your projected EFI costs) is that you still have to tune this thing. And monitor it if the car behavior changes. So throw a wideband oxygen sensor onto your costs, or dyno tuning. Lets not forget the installation costs that you don't think of (hidden costs of things like bits of wire, relays, etc)
I think you'll find its not quite as enticing as it initially looks.

Why does every thread that has to do with fuel delivery have to turn into a rant about how great EFI is?
I never said UTCIS was BETTER than EFI. I only remarked it was CHEAPER. And I'm not up on my soapbox trying to convince everyone that this is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I'm only stating that it's worth looking into for ANY application where EFI is not an option and better control of CIS is desirable.
This solution is the closest to a turnkey engine management solution for the 924 as I've seen anywhere. There is no such thing as turnkey EFI for the 924, and there's no such thing as a $700 EFI solution for the 924. Sorry, your free parts and junkyard components don't cut it on my application.

Here y'go: Just posted under the Performance Upgrades forum. Timing is a little odd considering I just sent an email inquiry to them last night. Let's not get too excited about this testimonial until we see some more details. I'm not suggesting anything untoward here, but it's sometimes prudent to be skeptical about testimonials around here...

Guys just to let you know I am the one paulc20 got the info from. I posted this on my favorite 928 ( Landsharkz ) forum a few days ago which is based for australia. I am not afilliated with the company and I did install it on my 928 and it is working great thus far. This unit in my mind is only pratical if your WUR is bad, you need to get more fuel for boosted applications or modified cars that have AFR leaning conditions. The stock Bosch WUR works fine ( just costs a arm and a leg to buy new and will probably go up as our cars age, the WUR for my 928 is 698.00 new the UTCIS is 499.00 new with 5 yr warranty ) for most applications. The installation does not require any other parts other than the existing fuel line fittings from your WUR. It plugs directly into the standard WUR wiring ( same plug ). You will have to find about a cigarette pack size spot on you fender for the ECU. The wire bundle is 24" so keep that in mind about ECU mounting options. Lets move this to the other thread under Performance Upgrades so I don't have to read 2 places.
