I'll keep my head down, then.

What do you mean Euro look? She's already a Euro-spec car...

Euro look was coined by the dub scene. Basic paramiters are wide wheels with stretched tyres combined with low supension. Im from that background (as my other car shows running 8s and 9s)

My toy to give you an idea.

P.S Any chance of a tumble weed smilie for Vince?

What's the thinking on the stretched tires? Is there any logical reason to do it, from a performance perspective?

No offense, but not coming from a VW tuning background I always thought it looked sort of strange.

PORSCHEV: Can't please everyone all of the time

Vince Ponz: Don't worry mate, I did chuckle.

Chrenan: 2 reasons behind it. 1: It allows wider than standard wheels to be fitted to the car, giving a "fat" look. 2: The decreased tyre flex allows easier breakaway of the rear giving more controlled drift.

Interesting, I guess I understand the "look" idea if that is what you are going for. Sort of opposite to the Porsche world where people are trying to get the maximum rubber under that car, and are willing to tack flares on their fenders to do so. In your case it seems the maximum wheel width, not the tire width, is the aim under the stock fenders.

Why would you want easier breakaway of the rear? Wouldn't that actually slow you down? I can understand wanting to limit the understeering tendancies of a front wheel drive platform, but that seems to push it too far into snap oversteer?
