There's a 924 Turbo (1980) I'm very interested in purchasing. If I do purchase it, I'd like to convert the body to resemble a 924 Carrera GT...

I am new to Porsches and making body enhancements, and I'm not sure of the parts I will need. Will I need only front fenders, rear fenders, and front spoiler+bumper to convert the body?

Also, someone said something about making the complete conversion for under $1000. Is that possible? For the parts above...

924 CARRERA GT FRONT SPOILER & BUMPER: $429.95
944/924 GT Front Fenders stock: $495.95
924GT REAR FENDER FLARES: $248.95

Which adds up to $1174.85 before tax/shipping/etc... Hopefully that's all I'll need. :)

Thanks!

-Chris

I belive the only things that you are missing
are the head light pods and lexan light covers
and the hood scoop.

You only need the lexan headlight hole covers if your going for the GTS look, and then your looking at 944 turbo wide body panels. Keep in mind you will have to rig some kinda of headlights under the covers too. You do need the GT hood scoop and another 924 hood. Why ruin a good 931 hood when there are so many 924/944 hoods floating around.

your estimate is way off. i would say that it
does not make economic sense to do that conversion unless you really want a 924 carrera looking car. you can pickup 944t from 5800-8800 and with the cost of the 931 and conversion you would exceed this. In 86 it had costed me 12000 to convert to a 924gtr set-up. Now you have estimated 1100 for the body kit, then figure another 300-800 for hood scoop, driving lights and misc. items. then approx. 700-3000 for painting and body work ( if you get a good job cheaper please inform me mine needs to be repainted now) 700-1500 for the wheels to fill those bigger arches. If you have four bolt wheels
i can help you there ( 300 for 9x15 and 10x15 5 spoke revolutions wheels. 1100 new) If five bolt hubs then 700-1400 will get you a set. i would estimate and additional 2000 to your estimate as min. amount.
