I've noticed that using Seafoam or similar products to clean the engine has been mentioned several times already, but I've also read about using plain distilled water to eliminate engine carbon deposits as well (read it here). I'm planning to run 2 liters of distilled water through slowly at a 3000 rpm, but I'm not sure where to hook the water up to. Has anyone done this with water already? _________________ -White 1987 Porsche 924S (Hawaii)

I've done it, It works as descibed in that post. I've done it to a few different cars with varying results (depends how carboned up things are)
Hook the water up to any vaccum source. And don't worry about it when the car runs really bad while your feeding it in.

In ran Seafoam through the intake on my Jeep, and it seemed to work as advertised. The white billowing cloud produced was visible from space. _________________ Toofah King Bad

I forgot the name of the product but while a teen I used a intake cleaner too. I sprayed it into the carb for a couple of minutes reving the engine while spraying. I looked up and the entire block was filled with white smoke. I shut the hood and walked away not wanting them think I did it.

When I was a lad, we used Red X in a similar way, it was so effective I used to have to turn down the idle speed. _________________ '81 932

At that time Abe Lincoln and I could not care less about the environment.
No body else cared either. _________________ "Never let them see you sweat"
