You can't remove the fuel accumulators without affecting the engine start performance. The fuel accumulators are there to hold pressure in the fule system after the engine is shut down. If you remove the fuel accumulators it will be harder to start the car, and the car may suffer from vapor lock when you shut it down hot.
What size fuel accumulators do you have now?
You might be able to get away with one large one. But one small one would be too little capacity. |

As a secondary function to gohim's comments, I believe the accumulator also serves to provide dampening of transients in the fuel system. _________________ 1981 931 (Concours)

I know the stock units are expensive, but they solved a ton of issues in my 931. What if you go to the trouble of adapting a non-stock unit from the salvage yard and it doesn't work either? _________________ Toofah King Bad

| I got a used one for $75 at Parts Heaven. The Bosch P/N 0-438-170-024 accumulator only fits the 79-82 924 and the 80-82 931 |
