Has anyone tried to run 215 60 14's on their 924? It is the exact same hieght as the original 185 70 14 at 24.2 inches which makes it a hair wider and shorter than the stock 205 60 15's which are 24.7 inches. Should net some gains in handling with the wider footprint and shorter side wall. I just wonder if they would rub on the front. My 205's rubbed the front fender in Vermont under some hard driving conditions, I was doing about 55 into a hard downhill right hander while getting on the brakes, about as bad of condition as it could get with all the weight on the drivers front tire.

All opinions appreciated and I did some searching with very little luck.

Thank You,
Chad P.

215 is a hair wide for 6' rims, IMO.

How wide are the stock spiderweb wheels? And what size tires do people usually put on them for a good combination of grip & tight handling?

The standard 4 bolt spiderwebs are 6J14. These will take up to a 225 safely, according to the tyre dealers.

Currently I am running 225/60/14 Toyos on all corners with no problems or rubbing. Previously had 225/60/14 Goodyear eagles with raised lettering that would just rub on the front (swaybar I think) at full lock.

While there will be some variation between brands of the same size, am sure that 215/60/14 will be OK.

Well, there's a difference between whether they can be mounted and whether they provide a stable contact patch under hard cornering. . .

Right...which is why I'm asking you guys what the best size to go with is...I'm guessing a 205 is a little too big? How about a 195?

205 is good for 6" rim. Use the tire size calculator to get an idea about aspect ratios.

205 is stock on the 15 inch spider webs, problem is nobody makes a 205 65 14 which will keep your speedometer reading right.

For the record..

My stock spiderwebs had 215/60 up front, and 225/60 in the rear.

Now with 16x7 and 16x8's i run only 205/55 and 225/50
