| Great to hear! My first 924S was the most exciting car project I had experienced in my life up to that point. I still have my first one, and I don't plan on parting with it ever. Every memory, and every mile in that car was a good one and it never stranded me. If you are like me, you will find that your appreciation for these cars grows with every mile. |

Aww shucks.
What the heck did I do to deserve such positive attention?
I know this group would be next to useless if some of the guys you mentioned didn't participate. It's amazing how helpful some guys are, and they can never receive enough praise in my opinion.
Well, I can't tell from Smoothie's picture if that's a boy or a girl, but the dog IS waring flannel. _________________ 78 924 NA

I get these thoughts....Sometimes I think with the guys on this board we could get a 924 to the moon....or at least get one twin turbo'ed and drilled with lizards help..to centre of the earth. (okok "The Core" was on TV last night)

I just recently got my 1977 924 running for he first time in at least 10 years. Drove it up and down the block. Then swapped the engine into my 1979 924 (better body but hasnt moved by itself for at least 15 years). And drove it around the block as well. I have had a lot of help from everyone on this site, especially with fuel system problems. I still have lots left to do, my tranny grinds a little bit when shifting, hopefully its not to messed up. But i cant wait to drive it around!!! Keep up the good work everyone!!! _________________ '80 924 M471,Wideband O2, Full coilover susp,23/19 sways,Bilstiens,KLA Strut Brace,Roll Bar,Test Pipe,BBS RS, Willwood BBK

I also finally got the 79 to run continually for the first time today. I drove it around the several block test course multiple times until the smoky exhaust cleared up. Now I need to get the idle even, smooth and less than 1200 rpm. Perhaps those spare injectors would be a good installation about now. I think the decel valve(correct Porsche name?) is sticking partially open, or needs to be adjusted to close faster. New issues are a noisy water pump, slow engine cooling fan, and the usual balky shifting in a snailshell trans. Otherwise this car may be a keeper. -Tom |
