Who's being quoted there?
-And how do you all know that Mr. Legal isn't Mark again. It's been alleged that Mark also played the part of "Sid", the supposed lawyer for hausbrauen. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

Sheesh, everyone's getting just a might suspicious, don't ya think??? Every suspicious or unexplained or questionable activity that happens on this board will forever be linked to some Hausbrauen conspiracy theory.
Seriously, to anyone who's been on this board for a while (let's see, when did I join? oh yeah, 30 Sep 2004), it should be no secret or surprise that I am personally acquainted with Mark(nemesis, hausbrauen, my924gtc, whatever). Here's a small sampling to prove my point:

I was practically his neighbor from Jan 2006-Nov 2006. During that time, I was living with my best friend, who literally lives on the other side of Elizabeth Lake from Mark in Waterford MI, less than two miles away. When I remarried in Nov last year, I moved back to Plymouth to maintain an address in the school district where I want my kids to attend.
Mark has worked on at least three of my cars, and has given and sold me countless parts. He's been helping me on and off with the wide body project, including helping me acquire the five lug and some other bits, which he's been storing for me until I get space in my garage. When I saw this post, I was immediately concerned. If someone goes after him, I may never see my stuff again, which is locked away in this secured Uhaul storage facility.
{EDIT}
One more thing. Go look at the time stamp of Street Legal's original post: 8:17 AM EDT. I arrived at Mark's house at 8:02 AM EDT and was there until about 9 AM, picking up my stuff. Eerie, I know. You could always call Mark personally if you want to verify that I was there, but I'm not sure you'd get a response at this point _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

You didn't by chance see a shiny new custom aluminum radiator in there, did you? That'd be mine. _________________ 1981 931 (Concours)

So he/ they didn't rip off every person in the world. Still guilty of the rest.
Also it's a lot harder to rip someone off in person if they know where you live.
Not to mention he still needed/ wanted to sell parts so he had to keep some lines open. |

Remember, it is only a "conspiracy theory" if the phenomenon is in doubt, like UFO's, Sasquatch, the Loch Ness Monster and low-fat frozen yougurt. There is no doubting that Housebrown and their associates are crooks. _________________ 1987 951 - M193 Version for Japan |

Unfortunately, I haven't been to the storage facility since May. We may never see that stuff now, which is why I was alarmed when I saw the thread. I've got an entire chassis sitting over there. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

+1 with Chrenan. I was pretty sure that multiple aliases were being used, and it looks like this has been born out. I have other suspicions, too, but nothing concrete, which is why all this is so disconcerting to me.
I think that good can come of all this, though. This should serve as a reminder to everyone that the internet is full of scammers and unscrupulous individuals hiding behind the anonymity. We all need to take appropriate precautions when doing business over the internet. Furthermore, we, as a community, need to look out for each other and shine a light on questionable characters, whether they be sellers, buyers, or posters of erroneous information.
We don't need to have a witch hunt going on all the time. Holding people accountable can done with respect, but individuals that refuse to act with integrity should be identified. In the words of Ronald Reagan, my favorite U.S. President, "Trust, but verify."
It is my hope that all issues can be settled equitably. Good luck to those seeking an honest outcome.
Cheers, Brian |

Hey Street Legal, Do you have an email I could give to a friend? He was supposed to get some phone dials from him but never got them.
Thanks,

So the anonym lawyer goes after the anonym scammer?
Not only alone, but as a team right from the start.
Nice.
For me to take it seriously the "Street Legal Litigation Team" should at least have an address, phone numbers, so I can reach them if I want. PM feature is a little bit one-way...
"I have been retained by a group of Porsche enthusiasts, some of whom are active participants in this forum."
Anybody can confirm this?
I say beware. |

If all this is coming about and true- then anyone who knows this guy and has any items stored with him should collect ASAP.
If the law comes down it will seize EVERYTHING and you will have next to f**k all chance of getting it back unless you can prove ownership. _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA

I had the same concerns about StreetLegal. I have spoken directly and can confirm the legitimacy of this post... last thing I want is to see yet another scam by Mark et al! _________________ Vaughan Scott

| teo wrote: | | So the anonym lawyer goes after the anonym scammer? | We never claimed to be lawyers. Street Legal Litigation Team (SLLT) is a group of individuals who were all defrauded by the perpetrator referenced in the original post. SLLT is not a law firm. We represent ourselves. We have no clients. None of the victims that have joined the SLLT effort to date are practicing attorneys. However, we have retained appropriate professional assistance in the jurisdiction where the alleged crimes were perpetrated.
Furthermore, while you may not be aware of the identities behind SLLT, we are not anonymous. The admins, the perpetrator, and the victims all know our identity. Therefore we are not anonymous. If you aren't a victim, this thread doesn't concern you. If you are merely curious, you are free to follow this thread or request information using PM.

Furthermore, PM is not a one-way communication tool. You are free to reply.
PM sent. |
