Anyone know where to find replacement cloth braided hose? I'm looking for 22mm (7/8") and 19mm (3/4") ID's for the stock 931 air/oil separator plumbing. Regular rubber hose doesn't seem to hold up as well when oil vapor/fume is running through.

I'm sure other's have come across the problem of replacing these hoses too eh?

No idea were to get that cloth hose, but if you having problems with durability, you may wish to consider another route, such as a teflon lined hose, or plastic type braided hose (such as used in power steering systems)

I got some of the OE looking outer braid stuff from the local NAPA store here a few years ago in smaller sizes to replace some vacuum lines. They might have had it in larger sizes, but I didn't ask.
For hydrocarbon contact, reg'lar olde rubber hose won't do - the stuff I got for that (again from NAPA - I have a piece in 1/2" size here) - it has "FUEL LINE EEC PCV" printed along its' length. Just ask for fuel hose and double check the printing on it.

Actually, for the air-oil seperator, many moons ago I replaced one small section with a piece of clear, non-reinforced PVC hose (it was all I had laying around, so I tried it). 10 or so years later (last year) I had a sudden burst of energy so went to replace the piece from the breather to the seperator, noticed the then old piece of PVC was holding up suprisingly well and looked into it with some web searching - it turns out that PVC is one of the more oil+fuel resistant choices and its' temperature resistance is up there too. -So I went ahead and replaced the rest of the seperator lines with the same type of clear PVC. It will tend to darken over time, but until it does, you get a view of what and an idea of how much of it is passing through the lines.
Here's that small piece of PVC I had in place for about 10 years (photographed Nov 1, 2003) -

-And the way overdue breather outlet and other lines that were replaced last year (photos taken last year) -

ahh, thanks Smoothie. I forgot about your clear hose install. Being able to see what is flowing/blowing out of the breather is a nice addition (currently nothing, woohoo!)

Yes, I just bought kilos of meters of the right sizes from Halsey Imports for my fuel tank project. Just be sure of the size you want and insist on it. -Tom
