|

I have an idea for a How-to, but haven’t done it yet. I think an old fuel pump relay can be taken apart and used for the jumper. My thought is that it would be much easier to unplug the fuel pump relay and install the jumper/relay box than just the two jumper wires, especially in the dark. My only reservation is that the relay is a tight connection where if you just have two male ends on the relay box, they might get pushed into the box. Would a jumper/relay box be a good idea? _________________ Rob

Why not install a switch if your jumpering it often enough to worry about making something to make it easier?
Make sure the switch contacts can cope with 16A (Thats how big the fuel pump fuse is) and I would go for a 3 pos switch: on/off/relay bit of added security perhaps?

It hasn't happened yet to me. I just thought it would be easier to make that and not need it. _________________ Rob

i've repaired one fuel pump relay....the capacitors were shot...but i also replaced the Beta 555 temporisator circuit. The trick is that you have to corectly calculate the capacitors so you get the 1-2 seconds of fuel pump runing before it shuts off....mine stopped working and after my repair it holds up for about half a second if there is no voltage on the terminal 1. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits
