Question about the switches by the gear shift. There is a row behind the gear shift (close to cassette box) that looks to have 4 holes for switches. I only have 2, and 2 holes. From what i remember (i'm at work) i have one for the rear windshield wiper, and one for selecting what mirror is being moved. My question is what are the other 2 holes for? Were they nothing, or am i missing switches?
P.S. car is a 1987 924s. _________________ 1987 Porsche 924s (summer project)

There should be "fake" switches to fill the holes. _________________ 1987 951 - M193 Version for Japan |

| Optional Headlight Washers, and (1) Spare. I stuffed the "Valet" Switch for my alarm system in the Spare hole. |

Haha, check under your seats, tha's where I always seem to find those little blanks. Or you could just add a subwoofer and put a switch to turn your amp on and off, like I did

my 924S has really weird what appear to be broken switches one moving left and right the other moving forward and back and have cables coming out of them. i think the previous owner might have installed them because there is also what appears to be a 9 volt dc outlet or something. i will take pictures of it tomorrow because i've been wondering for some time what the heck they are. _________________ 1987 924S - MO30 30/19 - Yellows all around |

I was thinking of putting in switches for something. I don't have the money to add a nice stereo, So i was thinking a kill switch, or something else if i dream it up.
P.S. anyone put a kill switch in one of these cars? Easy to do? what did you wire it to, i've seen different examples where people went to teh fuel pump, or killed the spark plugs. I don't really like the sound of tampering with either of those and was wondering about the starter. I'm sure there has to be some threads about this and i'll do some searching. _________________ 1987 Porsche 924s (summer project)

four holes, four switches for optional accessories: side power mirror select, rear wiper , headlight washer, and i think the last one was for the rear fog light switch. _________________ Eric

We all have them, but there's no bulb installed. Take a look at your rear tail light and you will see a space for it. _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

I think I know what you're talking about, but then again I'm not exactly sure, I know that we have backup lights and under that is an extra lense, but it's red, and that wouldn't make much sence to be used as a fog light. Like I said, I'm not really sure.

I think the OE position for the foglight switch was up near the cig lighter. It would be a larger switch and lighted. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

Yeah, my 944 has a foglight switch right there, but I'm still a little confused about this whole rear foglight thing, haha.

I believe a rear foglight is required in some European countries though I'm not seeing it in the wiring diagrams. The front foglights are shown with the switch and relay and the common sense thing to do by my definition of what's reasonable would be to add the rear foglight/s to the fronts' circuitry. -But this may be another application of seemingly counterintuitive German car electrical engineering - they may well have wired the rear foglight through a seperate switch. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. It's under the back up light. Only the driver's side is lit. The idea is to help drivers approaching from the rear to be able to see you quicker. _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"
