Is it possible to fit the 5 stud "cookie cutter" wheels from the early 944 to a 1985 924 Lux with 4 stud whhels? If so what mods are required to hubs brakes etc.

There is an adapter that would help you. It's on WWW.Tweeks.com. It's a really
good catalog site for the restoration of 356 all the way to the new stuff, but best of all there
are products for 924!

You need to convert to the 5 lug 4 wheel disc brake setup. One of these days I will complete the article on our project doing just that. Our donor car was an 80 931 so it was an easy swap. You can also use an early 944 or a 924S. Find a donor car or someone who has put monster brakes on a 944 to go racing and get the parts. Also check Pano and websites. Almost every month someone is selling at least part of what you need. There is a short discussion and some pictures in the tech section about this.

John
