Has anyone heard of dC Automotive http://dcauto.gotdns.com/www/ or ordered anything from them? I found that they have tie rod assemblies for $40! It seems almost too good to be true, which is why I am asking.

TIA,

I used them ~5 years ago to buy some 5-lug brake parts for my old '77. Prices were reasonable and they tossed every nut and bolt that went with the parts in the box. I think shipping time was decent too. Not much to complain about! I got the impression that they were a pretty well-organized outfit.

They may not ship across the ocean. Why not just give them a ring?

I plan on calling them to see which brand the tie rod assemblies are.

I called them. The tie rod assemblies are OEM and used. I asked if they were like new and he said "used, but within spec". Is "used, but within spec" something that I should put on my car?

I have not installed the tie rod assemblies on the car yet, but they look to be in great shape. I would recommend DC Auto for any used parts. They also called before shipping the order just in case I had thought of any other parts I wanted that I could include in the order. Seems like great service to me.

I ordered a couple of parts for my 928 last Monday ( 4/30/2007 ). According to the UPS tracking number they emailed me the parts still have not shipped, only the billing information has been received by UPS. Everything I ordered was marked as In Stock on their web site except for the Oil Separator Hose 928 107 315 00 which was supposed to ship in 48 hours. I emailed their customer support on Friday and have yet to receive a response. Starting to worry. I am in a bind to get the intake back together but this hose is in a spot that would be easier to connect with the intake off.

Anyone know of a good forum for 928s. Like this one. I have a early '78 928 5 speed. Right now I am replacing all of the cracked/worn/brittle hoses etc.. The hose in question was hard as a rock and broke off with minimal force from me sqeezing my hand around the AUR during removal.

FYI, my order finally shipped and should be here on Monday 5/14/2007. That's a long turn around but after speaking with someone at DC Automotive, they never answered my emails, I found out that there was some confusion about which side front windsheild strip I ordered. I would have preferred them to contact me to resolve the problem instead of bumbling around for days figuring it out but at least I am getting my parts.

Thanks for the 928 links. I have only driven my 928 a few times before I pulled the intake and started refreshing hoses but from the brief driving I did I know it will be a fun car, and that was with vacuum leaks.

This forum is really one of the best when it comes to CIS trouble shooting. My 928 is K-Jetronic so this site is still very helpfull.

For more help on understanding the CIS and how to troubleshoot it I can also recomend these books:
Bosch Fuel Injection and Engine Management
How to Tune and Modify Bosch Fuel Injection

Also a nice webpage Mechanical Fuel Injection

What is the trouble with your CIS?
