Can anyone tell me what exactly this is

I know that he is eating about a 2" long locus/grasshopper.

this thing has 8 legs and what appears to be two antennas but they are mounted under his body, he has 2 pairs of ant jaws, which are mounted vertical not horizontal like an ant.

Due to his legs I am guessing it is an arachnid but I would like to know exactly what this is.

TIA

It's a bug.

Actually, a bug eating another bug.

Sure doesn't look like it's from around here though!

Sweet mama, is that thing sitting in your car? This makes me glad I live in Scandinavia.

I am no expert on spiders, but I am a biologist, and she looks a lot like a camel spider (actually not a real spider, but it is an arachnid). I am a bit confused about your location, because I thought these were only found further south, but I could very well be wrong.

Huge mouth parts (chelicerae) and huge "antennas" (pedipalps) These are actually not antennas - arachnids don't have them. The pedipalps are the long set in the front, so the front pair of legs (just behind the pedipalps) actually looks quite small...

Now we just sit back and wait for the board's entomologist to tell me I'm way off...

actually we kept it in a box and we have been trying to find a scorpian to have a duel with lol

yah I found out it is a sun spider or wind scorpian shortly after and that it is completely harmless as it has no venom, but I think it would hurt to be bitten by it.

It's the buds that grow big in BC, not the bugs!
