Why? You would need to unbolt the cat from the turbo, or the rear exhaust and lower it down enough to break up the honeycomb anyway. Why wouldn't you just pull it all the way out? You would never be able to get all the broken pieces out with it sitting horizontal.
Also, do you know that it's bad? If not, just leave it. It isn't robbing you of much and Al Gore will be happier.
If it is bad, then remember to wear a mask when breaking up the pieces. They are toxic after all.
It's a shame that Porsche ducted the wastegate line into the cat making replacing these things for a reasonable price completely impossible... _________________ 1980 931S
