Well that's definitely another way to go
Obviously Dave is making every effort to insure we have some nice pieces to work with here. I for one can't wait to see the real deal, even if just a pic. It's been a real pleasure working on this with him. Kudos to you Dave! |

Heh, ya it works, Its definately apparent that dave is making the effort on this one for us.
Which reminds me, anyone have a 924na flange caded up anyplace? .. I'm going to be having it done soon and it would be nice and easy if someone else has it already.

Plan is to stop orders on Sunday night and begin production the following week.
I've talked to Dave about doing future runs and it won't be a problem BUT in order to keep the costs down, and make it worthwhile, there needs to be others involved. But yes to answer your question future runs are an option. |

Shipping is flat rate, $20 to lower 48. $30 to Canada.
My calcs says $179.22 shipped for the trigger pulley and block off plate.
$154.50 shipped for just the pulley. _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

So forgive my ignorance, I don't have a lot of experience with these motors yet (and I don't have a top end in front of me to double check) but can't you just remove the distributor housing, distributor drive and install a seal in the end of the cylinder head?
I'd really rather not install that housing onto the head just to plug it with a plate, that just seems a little silly to me.
Thanks,
Stefan |

The cam shaft is longer than the head, so it can drive the dizzy.
You'd need something cap shaped. Imagine a much larger bottle cap, and it would need to mount to the original dizzy mount holes and woud end up costing a hell of a lot more than $24
This was my first thought as well. |

Hmm, the end of the cam is smooth and uniformly sized just like the front of the camshaft. Seems like a pretty typical deal that could benefit from a reverse rotation seal.
They are typically around $6 and make would make working in that area almost possible. I guess I'll take some measurements when I get home tonight. |

Well put scottc.
Yeah I'm not keen on doing anything more costly than this simple little fix.
Flosho should be the one being thanked for all this, he is the one that got the ball rolling.
Me, I'm just an information hub and was lucky enough to have the crank pulleys to donate. But I know this little deal is saving me well over $100 vs. the cost of having one-off parts made so it is all gravy as far as I'm concerned.
BTW Dave is basically donating his time on all this becasue we are all Porsche fanatics so once again, thank you Dave! |
