If you guys were putting an on/off/on switch in your car to power something, where would you mount the switch? My thoughts are to use an on/off/on switch for my passenger side window for now so I can drive the car. In the mean time, I'll try to get the switch to work.

It will probably be much easier to fix the switch you have. The contacts get corroded inside the switch. They're not tough to take apart (jeweler's screwdrivers work well). Then just scrape the corrosion off the contacts and you should be good to go!

If your passenger side window isn't rolling up and down properly, and the motor itself seems good, the problem might be in the drivers side switch for the passenger window.

On my car, the passenger could roll the window down, but not up, while the driver could roll the window both ways.

The reason was because the internals of the switch ended up getting mangled by some previous owner. Some contacts are supposed to make contact when the switch is not depressed while others do not, then when the switch is pressed, some contacts break while others are made. The problem was the normally closed contacts were actually normally open, which prevented the power from going to the passenger side switch. It's designed this way to prevent a melt-down if the driver and passenger are having a disagreement on whether the window should go up or down.

However, a great location to add switches is in the cener console in the bank of blank switch covers. Just pop one out and put in a rocker switch the same size.

I agree, the problem is probably a dirty/defective switch, OR if the window/s are operating very slowly, it could be a sign that the window mechanism needs lubrication.

I would start by swapping the switches around to see what happens. If the Driver's switch for the passenger window is defective, the passenger door switch will not work either.

Also, not all window switches can be safely serviced. If you take a window switch apart, and it has a pair of BBs for the center contact (pressed by springs) throw the switch away. There is a high probability that the BB will fall out of place, and cause a short, burning up the wiring.

The door switches that use a tube with a ball-shaped closed end to trap the spring are safe to clean, lubricate, reassemble, and reuse.

The original grease used to lubricate window mechanisms isover 20 year old now, and as aged into worthless hard lumps. You need to remove the inner door panel, wipe/scrape out the old much and relubricate with a good silicone or moly based grease so the window motors can do their job without overheating, slowing, jamming, or blowing fuses.

The motor is known to be good...it has been tested and works. I have tried 3 different switches that are also known to be good and tested with the driverside window and all 3 worked. When put in the driverside-passengerside window slot and passengerside window slot (in any combination), they did not work for the passenger side window. I do remember that some are the BBs and some are the tube with a ball-shaped closed end. I'll look at them further though. It sounds like possible wiring issues.
