Hi guys i am having problems with my electric sunroof.
I have an '84 NA. When i go to remove the sunroof (but turning the key once and pressing the open switch) nothing happens. Until recently it would tilt up an down though. Now that doesnt even work, it will open a small amount but it won't have the power to close properly.
I have used the manual function to close it.
Any suggestions on a fix, i have cleaned the earth cable at the rear hatch.
Is there a manual way to remove the sunroof??

Hey Jim,

i am not familiar with the Porsche sunroof, but, there must be a way to re-initialize the function of the roof.At BMW `s you push the switch for about a minute all the way in and the roof go to all steps (moves) it normaly does.Try that and check for obstacles in the rails.(Pathes)

The Haynes manual has limited notes on the sunroof but there is a screw clutch in the back to disengage the motor so the roof can be removed/raised by hand by it isn't for normal use.
The operation of the roof is confusing because you use the same switch to remove the roof as it is to raise.
The only difference is it changes with the ign key position.
If the ign key is off but still in the ign you can release the rear latches.
If the key is on it will raise/lower.
