What's so bad about aluminum?
It's used in suspension arms. If it is sized correctly and used in an appropriate manner, what's the big deal? It's not a magical material that can detect it's being used as a steering component rather than a suspension component, piston, or some other part. _________________ 78 924 NA

NO car on this planet uses aluminium in its steering system. Aluminium wears very easy....you will crash. end of story. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

Yes, even Porsche used aluminum on the 944 control arms...and they are know for failing! Point made. I am just looking out for the safety of the other board members. I would hate to see someone hurt or die for the sake of 6 inches of tubed aluminum. _________________ 1976 924

Once again,
The how to is posted on this site. I followed the instructions as close as I could even buying the exact speck of aluminium. I'm not going that route anymore, but that won't stop somebody that hasn't read this thread. I think this how to should removed, especially now that the whole thing can be avoided with a female heim joint.
