How do you remove the windscreen wiper mechanism?
I bought a 924 recently (see complete novice buys a Porsche 924) and the wiper mechanism wasn’t working on the drivers side. i can remove the motor and basically get the system loose but its trapped in!
The whole mechanism seems to be trapped in on the driver’s side. I’ve spent hours trying to figure it out…
I need to install a new one ….
Thanks |

Do you mean the wiper arm itself? I just removed/painted/replaced mine... there's a single nut under a plastic cover at the base of the arm... take that off and jiggle the entire arm free... took me about 15 seconds for each one.

i know that i've swapped the wiper motor. dont remember it being that hard. maybe its different for left and right hand vehicles or something.
i vaguely remember just undoing the bolts and taking it out. the only vaguely challenging bit is getting the wipers to park properly when you install the new one.
good luck _________________ 1978 924 N/A

Hi All,
Thanks for the advice. Maybe I didn’t explain my problem well.
I can remove the motor and wiper arms etc but it’s the actual connecting rod and frame that I cannot remove. It’s trapped behind the blower motor. Even if I remove the cover, the blower vent is still blocking its removal.
Help……. |
