ok, We're rounding the bend on this one now
Starting to put on the little "bits" now

We got it out in the sun for a photo op!
I bolted up the Design 90's and taped the center light up to see what it will look like.
I think the smoothed bumper and D-90s kinda "968's" it up a bit
Whatcha think?

The Euro bumper came out well...

Ever try finding a "924S" plate? GOOD LUCK! It took me a year to find this one...

We worked a whole week getting this line perfect...

Good shine and we still havent buffed it out yet....I cant wait...

More to come...

looks great...on a couple side notes, if you still want some 15" phones for snow wheels, I've got a set in good condition and would be more than happy to sell for cheap and deliver. Also, if you're interested in showing it, there's going to be a car show in Hanover this saturday and I'm trying to get a few more porsches...so far we've got 1 or 2 911's, a 968 and (hopefully) my white 924S. IF you're interested, shoot me an email and i'll put you in touch with the show organizer

Yes, I think it is a Euro bumper, however, I was under the impression that the Euro bumpers were fiberglass. This one is aluminum. Either way, it LOOKS like a euro with the built in fogs. We also sunk it in about 2" for a smoother look. It took me over a YEAR to find that 924S plate. I found a BUNCH of "PORSCHE" and "924" but a"924S" seems to be pretty rare. I wanted to have that instead of the sticker for the upper right hand side.

That bumper sure is weird. Where did you get it? It looks like modified american one.

Those reflectors are hideous and junky looking, IMO.

The car looks awesome, tho, I am envious of your ability to paint! And I just got the same wheels for my 931. . .

Hey 924SSilver,

You never came around to posting the pics after it had its final 'buff/polish'

Its the first time im reading the post, car looks good, not sure about it having a 968 looking ass, but either way definately a good restoration!

Did you go into the same amount of hard work for the interior too?

Hey buddy,

I know the feeling, I have been meaning to take some better pics of my car for the best part of a month now, but never get the time to clean it all up and shoot some pics.

A nice and clean interior is probably on of the most imp things, afterall your inside the car 98% of the time.

Im looking forward to seeing the pics Good luck on your new projects and keep us posted!

SparkY

While I prefer a more plain reflector, I think it is how the car should have been designed in the first place. It gives the rear of the car a more finished look and puts the license plate where (I think) it belongs.

Far from "hideous" IMO....

I think Rasta was referring to the side reflectors on the quarter panels. You know, the ones so ugly they covered them with fender flares to hide the shame of using them? They are also remarkably similar to the ones found attached to fences along unlit country roads to mark off houses, fences or other objects often mistaken for "road" in the middle of the night.

Actually I was referring to the rear reflectors. We all have our opinions, eh?

Although I guess I could be open minded aobut it if I saw one of high quality that matched the taillight lense material. I have just never seen one like that.

Stu, how are you lighting your plate?

Mine came as a kit and the license plate bracket has lights and it was really easy to rewire.
