|
|
Guys,
Any tips or tricks when replacing injectors? My new shiny ones turned up today, so was wondering if there's anything extra I should do whilst I'm in there.
Cheers,
Gavin. _________________ Whoever said you can't buy happiness forgot about Porsche!

I removed mine using the claw hammer as leverage.
Easier than pulling a nail.
I had to remove the boots first going to the aav and throttle body, then remove the fuel line clamps.
They come out easy enough, undo using the correct spanners and replace the 'o' ring as well.
The refitting is the reverse of removal.
Piece of cake. _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA

nothing special realy...
1. use compressed air to clean the area near the injectors.
2. pull the old ones out.
3. mount o-rings on the new ones.
4. push the old ones in.
Tools: 12mm and 14mm wrench.
note: keep the old injectors, you never know when you need to investigate or put the old ones back as it was. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

| Use the green colored injector seals. They are made of Viton, which is a longer lasting material. Watercooled VWs use the same injector seals so they are easy to buy at most any FLAPS. |

I used black ones but the green ones are a different material and supposed last longer or are impervious to oil etc. _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA

I'm surprised no one has yet suggested replacing the inserts. They can be a bit troublesome to remove, but if you want to be sure you don't have (or introduce) a vacuum leak, you might as well do the inserts while you're at it. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |
