Hey all,

I have a probably very stupid question.

I was having a look at my log book today and it says year of manafacture is 1980. Then i had a look at the first log book which was with the car and it says year of manafacture is 1976.

Now i have looked up and the numbers from what i can tell point to it being a 76. But would just like that confirmed..

The Chassis number is: 9246104308
The Engine number is: XK004314

Can anyone tell me anything else about the car from these numbers? Anything really as i would just like everything confirmed for a peace of mind

Cheers!

Checked that out and it is from the same car, but its just the one before they came out with their new system over here. Also both log books have the same engine and chassis numbers on it.

The gov departments over here are by far error free

Have you used this tool from our very own board?

http://www.924board.org/register/vindec.html

BTW it says it's a 76!

I love this board more and more as each day goes by!

Cheers Paul!

Wow so I have 1 out of 5145 cars produced that year.. pretty cool I think bet its the only one with lambo doors!

Now I am wondering, as insurance goes, would it make a difference (pricewise) leaving it down as a 1980 or getting it changed on the logbook to a 1976..

Sorry for all the silly questions

Have you considered an "agreed upon value" policy?

Chassis numbers
924= model
6,7,8, or 9= 1976, '77,'78, or 79
1= ROW 2= USA 3= JAPAN

Cheers Ozzie!

Thats 2 confirmations, plus what i already knew, definately got a 76 over here.. pretty good condition for a 76 aswell, apart from the normal odd normal problems.. beauty about living in malta is people do not tend to have any nicer cars as daily drivers, and besides, how far can you honestly go on an island that is only 20miles long and 8 wide?
