what is a good cold oil pressure to have.
got a 82 931 and I'm getting about 6 bar (bout 88psi), and when hot going down the road i'm getting 4 bar ( 60 psi), is the gauge off or do these thing run that high ( i'm new to this thing )

sounds about right to me.

how it she when she idles warm? should be about 1-2 bar if i'm not mistaken. that's what mine sits at.

but yeah, otherwise, those numbers you stated sound good to me.

nice pic, btw. that is one clean-lookin' 924.

Nice looking car, would look even better with euro trim, but I'm a european

A WHITE 931, is that the original paint? If so, yell if and when you want to sell it!!!

BTW your oil pressure is not too high.

I get around 2 bar at idle when warm and at cruising revs 4 - 5 bar.

I think Porsche used to state 5 bar at 5000rpm when warm.

Paul, one of our pairs of eyeballs needs work - but that looks like zermatt silber to me Definitely nice and clean!

Your pressures sound right to me too. Synthetic oils tend to due a slightly better job at keeping the cold pressures down a little and the hot pressures up a little. If your don't have any oil leak problems, the switch is highly recommended on a 931. The turbo likes the extra heat protection from synth oils too.
