Hello.
Have some nice side panels for cargo area & the start of a floating floor
with access panel for battery box. Gonna but to the sides tight up to wheel
well then go around to a raised section that runs across to each wheel well
forward of that will be speaker box of some undeturmined design.
also want to make a rear tail light cover just a cover that runs from side to side.... then sand prime & paint anythoughts or pics of what other have or have done. Show me. _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na

.. made so much progress today.
I'm gonna have a really nice stereo speaker enclosure
Ill be using some fiber glass resin painted overstretched
t-shirt material the material is stretched and stapled fist
onto a larger pattern of the speaker then over the actual
pattern set above the larger one in frame.. this then has
light weight filler applied and is sanded and smoothed.
I have a floor and battery box with access cover and sides
so the cargo area is almost done.. Now Ill build a enclosure
over where the rear seats would be these will but tight to
the side panels I made that are fastened under the rear
quarter windows . I fastened the panels with machine screws
after coating the back side with a thick bead of clear silicone
to minimize noise from vibration. I also have a pretty neat
enclosure to cover the rear lights it will run from side to side
I think I'm gonna redesign the lights and have Led lights
set in the plastic housing somehow back there like maybe
mounted on the rear light enclosure I'm gonna build.
.. have pics maybe on Wednesday. _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na

Its all gonna be blue.
Ill make a 42" x 14" cover with a 10" sub in the center & something on the sides instead of doing what in this pic below. I was thinking of standing the 10" sub up and building a barral on its side goin towards the back with the front tilted up the full circumfrance of the circle showing
the back would be lower maybe only half way above cover.
what ever I put on the sides will be tilted inwards I guess. Im using this technique as in the pic below again.

Yes.. an allnighter last night.. sparks or short ..hm-mm there
really nothing back there to short or ground is there..
Got to fill and sand and prime do that this week & build
a tail light cover lets see then make a new center console
with new gauges (oil pressure, volts, water temp, air fuel mix)
next week pull the dash and do some repair then put it all back
together Then deal with the seats.. & a shaved door handle kit
I also still have to put the duct in my hood paint it put lights in the bumper,
attach hatch latches switch to 944
hatch get the rear wheels done.. lots and lots of things here.
Yea I'm gonna spend a few hundred and get some nice speakers
subs amp receiver..
Bought the sub already(waiting on delivery) and have an amp.
The receiver needs to have a CD writer & a US or some kind of
port so I can listen to stuff I get off the inter-net. phheeeww a mouth full.
Hows your car Morghen. _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na

my car is waiting for some funds...going to set the weel alignment soon then add some music to it and a central locking sistem. when it gets warm i'm going to paint the nose section again...since i trashed it a while a go i repaired it but did not paint it yet...so funds funds funds _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

if i was to do something like this, i would probably try to leave the whole back level all the way to the front seats. Then put the subs in the wells where the seats were. possibly a fibreglass mold of the seat area so I could have some truly sealed enclosures. looks like there would be heaps of room. plenty of sound deadening so that nothing rattles too. then carpet the whole thing.
but then, i'm not too worried about being able to see the subs, they are really only there to reduce background noise. Perhaps one day i'll have the time and money to really have a go at a project like this.
what are you going to do for a spare tyre? _________________ 1978 924 N/A

Joe, it looks great!!! Just remember with the subs, it is all about there ability to move air. And are you going to do something like what Porschev did to where your rear seats used to be? _________________ '79 924 now Totaled! Carrera GT bodywork for sale!

I primered the cargo build yesterday .once you do that you
find that things show up requiring more filling
& sanding..
On the box for the subs it needs to be a air tight box right
the sub come with directions on box size and ideas on how to build it. _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na

depends on the subs. some need a fully enclosed box, others need a ported box.
just make sure the volume is as close to right as possible, otherwise many of them sound bad.
cant wait to see more pics _________________ 1978 924 N/A

The sub needs a box totaling one cubic ft of space ive been told I could use one cubic foot of water if I have a funny shaped box you know
to get the right volume. Im going with a sealed box. pics Ill have some monday _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na
