I too may be interested in a set (left & right). Can you verify price? But I am looking for the competition versions (version POR175MX as per their online catalog) not the road versions (POR175M). I don't know if it makes a difference for the group buy?
Thanks. |

Gentlemen,
I will coordinate a group buy for sets of motor mounts. I have e-mailed John at Virbatech and asked for a price confirmation in US dollars, but have not heard back from him. That maybe due to the fact that I emailed him about 6:00 P.M. CST on Friday which was way after the close of business over there. If I understand the price quoted was in English pounds at the exchange rate of 1.975 dollars per pound, the cost per set would be $197.50 plus shipping.
My proposal is that we ship to a central location, my address in Nebraska, and all share equally in that shipping cost, ie., shipping cost divided by number of pairs purchased equal cost per pair shipped. To get them to your location would be actual shipping cost of your purchase plus a buck.
If you want in on the group buy PM me, I will give you an e-mail address and phone number that you can reach me and put you on the list. We will work out payment details after I hear back from John. I am looking for this to go by mid week, so don’t delay if you want these.

I heard back from John Wright this morning. I am trying to work out details on payment and shipping, but this may take some time since there is a six hour time differential.
I need to get up earlier in the morning.

Just heard back from John, he would prefer payment in a lump sum, which I can handle. However, I need to know who is in for sure. Price at the current exchange rate is $197.30 per pair plus shipping estimated at an additional $60.00 for the lot, or $8.50 per pair to the central US. He will mix and match track and road sets for us.
Let me know if you are in or not.

Genlemen,
This group buy is going to happen, so if you want to get in on the reduced price and bulk shipping let me know by 5:00 P.M. CST on Wednesday. I will place the order late Wednesday night so that John has it when he comes to work Thursday morning.
At the current exchange rate the cost is $197.30 per pair of mounts plus actual total shipping cost to your location. Either the track style or the street style can be order, please say which one you want with you request.

gents,
if you have a road car, DO NOT be tempted to buy the race items. They are incredibly stiff!! I have a set on the racer, and they are almost solid.
You have ben warned!

Tom,
I received your PM. I am in for a pair (left & right) of the competition mounts version POR175MX for $197.30.
Let me know how to send you payment.
Thanks,
Peter
P.S., my 931 is a track only car, but thanks Steve for the warning. |

Time is running out to get in on this group buy. I have been informed that we can order just one mount, so for those of you who want to replace just the exhaust side mount get on board.

This is a done deal. We ended up ordering five sets of motor mounts that should be here sometime next week. We'll see how this goes and I may coordinate other group buys in the future.

The first shipment is now enroute to the individuals that placed their order.
Dave, I don't know how we would have included you in the group buy. I don't think it would have made sense to ship them to the US and then Singapore.
John indicated that he had three more sets left after the group buy and was going to have to do another production run. So, if you want some motor mounts you had better let him know. His e-mail is :
vibratechnics.leic@gmail.com
One thing that you might want to be aware of is that the credit card companies charge a surcharge for currency conversion of about 3%. There maybe a way around it, but my credit card company is being very uncooperative about it.

hey thanks Tom.
i wrote to vibratech and they got back to me regarding the price of the mount for my 1979 4-speed 924. sterling 122.40 before freighting, after 10% discount. i'm not complaining!
i had a chat with my mechanic friend who helps me look after my car, and he commented that vibratech does racing parts, and whilst using their mounts will be miles better than the dead ones i have, they'll still tend to give a harsher ride, especially after the rubber hardens. he advised that i should try to look for one with abit more rubber inbetween. logically it seems to make sense, but with the no of sites i've trolled, and all only offering the right mount (why is this???), i'm wondering if i should throw in the towel and just get this one!
incidentally, i'm wondering if anyone can advise me on where i can get a cold start valve and gear box mounts too! John (vibratech) said they had the plans for teh gear box mount, but have not gotten down to building they yet. if enough of us write in, it might change his mind! heheheh.
cheer man

They only offer the right side mount at all the other places, because the stock from Porsche of the left side mount is depleted, and Porsche isn't going to make new ones. That's what I was told at my local Porsche dealer when I tried to buy both... |

You may be able to find a dealer that has some NOS, but generally these mounts are NLA. Vibra-Technics makes two styles of mounts, they are physically different, the POR175MX for the track, and the POR174M for the street.
Dave, I have to agree with your mechanic that the ride will be harsher than a new stock mount, but it's got to be much better than the broken spring mount that you probably have in there now. How long will it last, I'll tell you five years from now.
