May seem cheap now, but wait 'til you have to buy parts for it.

cool car, ive been tempted myself a few times , as they can be found dirt cheap, but as said above, parts and costs are huge hurdle for most. a $600 bi turbo can cost more than one cares to think about to get in order. dont invest more in one than you can afford to throw away.

Yeah, im definetly leaning towards buying. Does anybody know if it is an interferance engine. The owner thinks it may have jumped time. It has less than 100,000 miles on it, its rust free and it has a complete spare engine with 41,000 miles on it. the only problem is i have too many cars as it is and will be leaving for college in the fall.

I've seen this question come up a few times on another message board I frequent. Have a look here:

http://archive.mirafiori.com/show.php?fid=2&msg=144247#2_144247
http://archive.mirafiori.com/show.php?fid=3&msg=85596#3_85596

It appears that at least some years had an interference engine.

Don't kick any Italian car, it will crumple into a pile of rust.

I just watched the Top Gear episode on this car (Series 6, Episode 2). A complete piece of shite, according to Jeremy Clarkson -who loves Maseratis, by the way.

He bought one and then dropped a dumpster full of steel on it from 100 feet. He called it, "...an affront to one of the best badges in the business."
