myth for the most part, only the very early corvairs were a bit hazardous, and even then, it was mostly because the US drivers at the time simply didnt know how to drive a rear engined car and it was an easy target for Nader. The corvair was no more dangerous than taking a quick corner in a modern jeep wrangler. IRRC the actual mechanical defects were resolved within the first model year(1960?). IMO these were awesome cars, especially the later 67 on models, that were killed by ignorance , and its a shame.. rant over..
I drive a Vehicross daily, great little truck with an attitude, theres a buick that needs a brake line rusting in my driveway, and a razz scooter under a pile boxes in my garage that needs a carb . When Vince gets here he can work onmy cars if hes bored _________________ Eric

Yeah, I knew that. I was really refering to the uninformed perception of this car. I knew the real car buffs on this board would know the true story. _________________ 1985 Porsche 924 'Lux', Kalahari Beige (my ex)

This is my d-d, a BMW Z 3 small 1.8.Liter 4 Cyl.115 HP. Its going 200 Kmh
on the spot and needs 8.5 Liter normal (91 Octane) per 100 Km.
Its a 1998 modell and very reliable, nothing broke or is rattling even if just reached 146000 Km on the clock.(Made in USA,Spartanburg).
I am happy with it !
