Why has this tread turned so mean?
I only ask if there were more auto 924's out there. I've never seen another one in the almost ten years of ownership and wanted to find out if they were that rare. As many folks like to say "races are won in the corners" (must be high horse power muscle car owners that say that). Anyway even with my 79 924 auto I can follow my neighbor’s 92 964 5speed rather tight thru the twisties (kicks my a$$ on the straights but that’s motor size not 5speed)
We could start a poll and ask - Why did you buy you Porsche?
A. it's dragster like straight line acceleration
B. it's ability to blow away most any other car in the corners
C. It's a chick magnet _________________ Rick

Hey, wait a minute! We love our 924 auto! And said so!

Slam,
That line wasn't meant for you. Like I said, there were some very helpful posts.

Ask about a lift kit! And perhaps some seats from an El Dorado!
p.s. As to your quote above, nobody wants to answer the original question because it AIN'T RIGHT! This is 924board.org, not KoolKitKars.net. . . _________________ Toofah King Bad

So now everyone that has a CGT replica has a kit car? omg... Since when did that become a 'kit car'? Maybe I am on the wrong forum.
I give up. The playground bullies have twisted my arm far enough. UNCLE!
Here's the next two posts:
Me: I'd like to buy a white 924
Someone Else: White 924s are sooo stooopid. It ain't right...

Yeah man. . .you could also get a 76 912E, see, and build it up to look like a 935, Moby Dick style! Then, as a finishing touch, you could convert it to that sweet Sport-o-matic tranny!
Um, it just ain't right, dude (and BTW, nobody here has a 95 horse CGT replica with an automatic).

Personally, I think it's good that there's a healthy amount of ribbing here. It's obvious Khal was only having fun. Rasta, too. Plus it makes good spectator entertainment. No need to take it personally, Sebring.
We're all here because we love 924s. We all have different views; that's what makes us individuals. Vive la differance!

What have you done to it, John? It should be an easy 200 stock, 300 hp with fairly simple tuning. _________________ 1985 Porsche 924 'Lux', Kalahari Beige (my ex)

That's funny! I take back everything I said.
Wait....I didn't say anything!
We had chili over the weekend. Hmmm....good. I have a recipe for chili that will make you wish you were of a different faith.
Sebring 79; this is just playful banter, as it's called. If you want to know what it's like to really get flamed, go post that on the Pelican forums. They'll come to your house just for MENTIONING those three numbers in that order. I get crap all the time because I'm still looking to find a nice 86 or up 944 auto. I'd much rather have the auto for in town driving. That's why my dd now is a Mustang 5.0 auto. (Which is for sale, btw, if anyone is looking for a nice low-mileage convertible. White, white top, 46,000 miles. Going for book price or below. PM for more info.)
BTW, white cars are the best because white was the fastest color Porsche produced. They had to limit the number of white 924's made because 944 and 951 owners were crying. _________________ '80 924 n/a SOLD |
