| Badeu wrote: | I'm currently installing bike carbs on my 924 NA but cause of some misunderstanding with my mechanics wich realize my manifold i must wait some days before continuing.
My setup is 4 carbs from a GSXR 1100 bought on ebay for 80 € ( shiping cost includes, nearly $100 ), a Facet low pressure fuel pump and tons of handworking.
here comes some pics :
as you can see, the manifold is not well realised so i must to rework some parts...
( sorry for my poor english i stay french ^^ )
See you all ! |

Hi Badeu
i see you have taken the carbs apart & split the linkage, on my setup they left them on the origional rails, this cuts down on the work of re- linking them.
but on my setup you suffer on the manifold as it is not a straight line to the inlet on the head
Outofthebox
thanks, when i first fitted it i put that much wing on it at 90 to 100 mph the steering went very very light, so i will be flying 110mph
still need the parts to finish the SC hint hint

It will be awesome job when the car will be runing the goal is to race my 924 at the soon coming french 924 cup.
daveo > i've split and taken carbs apart cause i want exactly the same latency on all cylinders to maximize performances and because making a custom manifold is easier this way, but noluck, my current manifold is wrongsized... I will have the new one at the end of the next week
I can't wait to see it runing |

Would it be possible to, pressurise these carbs for turbo use ?
Because, at that price, they would be great to use for a cheap turbo conversion.
I used to run side draught 40's on a VW Scirroco, but they were just to damn heavy on the fuel.
I have them still, and was thinking of using them with fuel injection, on my rebuild, but think it might be best modifying the exisiting manifold.
Anyone here tried locating the throttle body to the front end of the plenum ? |

"sleeper" ????
who are they trying to kid, having your back wheel,1/2 metre further back than on a normal road bike, sort of trashes the sleeper concept.
Sort of says, i got so much power, i need to sit on the handlebars, to keep her down. |

So Daveo two questions "man". "One:"
What size jets do I use ? "Two:"
Is it easy to get it started and tuned ?
Im going for it. Im usen yamaha carbs .
Badeu "Good luck on your project tell me about
your intake..I am going to copy daveo's set up.
though Ill switch out the high pressure fuel pump
& set it aside.. Im thinking a low pressure
replacement pump and the intank pump alone
will do the trick. _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na
