I just got my rebuilt turbo today. I now need the large o ring to go on the pressure duct as well as the gasket that goes between the upper duct and the pressure tube. A exhuast manifold to turbo gasket is aslo needed. Does anyone know where i can get a gasket set to get my turbo back on. I cant wait to see what it feels like to drive a healthy 931. _________________ Darren

Well, try your dealer. But, I don't believe that the gasket between the lower and upper turbo ducts is available anymore. You may have to make that one. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo |

You will also need the 2 green O rings if you have disturbed the turbo mount (on the center section). _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

I got the O-Ring size from the online PET (47mm X 5.7mm), brought my old O-Ring as well, and went to my local auto parts shop and compared sizes to what they had in stock. I bought a few O-rings, thicker than the old one, since it had worn out past usefulness. Then I tried them one at a time and found the one that fit snug yet still allowed the lower charge tube to go on with only moderate resistance.
Try to get rings with higher-temp rubber (usually orange-colored); I got the regular rubber and I can't help but wonder if it could get a little too soft from the turbo's heat. _________________ '80 931 FOR SALE

If it is just standard rubber, my guess is it will meld into goo. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo |

i "might" have the sleeve you need. i will check later today. the sleeve for the 79-80 and 81-82 is different, i ordered the later and got the former and couldnt return it, it was expensive . if all else fails, the blue silicone sleeves they sell for turbo ducting should work. thats probably the route ill go since the sleeve i need cant be found. for now i resealed the old one and wrapped it in rubber tape. ill be pulling my engine soon so it wasnt a big deal.
the orings seem to still be available though, those should be orderable . _________________ Eric

You must use some kind of high temperature oring for the turbo oil supply. I used standard and they melted into goo from one drive. The dealer is the only place I have been able to find them. Also make sure you follow the manual's tightening sequence otherwise the joint will leak, new O rings or not. _________________ 1979 931 with a 350 chev

Thanks for all the help. I found the gaskets online at porsche-parts-direct.com I finished the turbo install today. Now to fix the short that causes the fuel pump to cut out and install a new cold start valve. _________________ Darren
