Going on a road trip to pick up my 924s this weekend (yea for memorial day traffic ) The car will be making a 12 hour trip over 2 days assuming we dont get stuck in traffic. I am planning on bringing extra fluids, a floor jack, a 12v air compressor and a small tool set. Is there anything in particular you guys would recomend that I include for the trip? |

I did this when I got my 924S. Had to drive about 8 hours to get it and then drive it back. Since another car was with me, I wasn't really worried too much about the trip. The 924S drove like a dream on the highway and always attracted attention at the rest stops.
Only tip I can give ya is to make certain the wiper/washer works
Have a great trip! _________________ -Stu

Could always plan the route, tell us where you're going to be, and have a backup plan with locals to contact if anything goes wrong!

I would ask to change the oil before the drive, but other than that, just the usual stuff: air pressure, extra water, etc
I have a GTI and 924S too. Cool _________________ Chris

WHile you are on the drive, bring a pad and a pen and write down things that seem to be weak or going wrong while you drive it up, when you sit in a car for that long you really notice the little quirks and then you can plan to fix them if need be later on. If you drive it up and then can't drive it for awhile you might forget you hear a bad wheel bearing in the back or something. _________________ 1987 Porsche 924S
