I have a 1988 924S and I am trying to fit 15x7 inch wheels onto the car for 944 spec racing. I know that my two options are cookie cutters or phone dials. I have located a set of cookie cutters which are the proper size, but they are from a 72-86 911, rather than a 944. Will these wheels fit on my car? I believe that have a different offset, but I do not know if this will effect their fitment. Thanks

I'm assuming you mean 944 Spec with NASA. I am also building an 88 924S for the SoCal region.

Have you tried posting in the 944 Spec forums at nasaforums.com? You can usually find offset info at discounttire.com or tirerack.com too.

Cookie cutters were not available in 1972. The offset on 911 wheels changed before 1986. You need to know the offset of the cookie cutters and/or the part number that is cast on the rear of the wheels before anyone can help you. 924S never came with cookie cutters, so depoending on what class you want to run, may not be legal. I have a set of Porsche TB Manuals, and I can see if the wheels will fit by the part number if you can get the part number. The 72 911 did not use 7 inch wheels, and the 6 inch phone dials that they use have a different offset from the 6 inch phone dials that came on 924S. The centers on the 6 inch 911 wheels stick out way further than the rims on the front than the 924S phone dials and they look funny, similar to the appearance of 928 7 inch phone dials. You should also be aware that cookie cutters are heavy wheels compared to phone dials, similar to the difference between the ATS cast BBS lookalike "basketweave" wheels and phone dials.

Yeah, um, those cookies in your pictures don't really fit. The proper offset for a 924S is 52.3mm. Cookies have an offset of 23.3mm for early 944 or pre-1990 911.

Check the ET on these wheels...You can go untill 36mm with no problem.
If the ET is 23mm,you just can't use them.
Good luck!

Cookies are not the proper offset for a 924S. They can bolt up (and Khal runs them on his 932), but if you are in a position where you are expected to guarantee proper fitment/no rubbing, don't.
