Yeah, the years are wrong, but it is for an M31.04 engine as listed here:

What makes you think they even have it, or that if they do it is original, or even in running condition?
Automobile Atlanta is notorious for advertising things that they don't have with a "if you send them money, then they will send you something someday" plan. You may actually never get anything, or it may take them years to send anything, or what they send you may be broken or unusable, or may be a poor excuse for a rebuild.
A some good examples of this are "Club 924" (I got sucked into this one and never received any of the things that they said were part of the membership, or my money back). Membership was supposed to get you a monthly newsletter, special member only sales/discounts, and a complete 924 Parts Catalog, better than the Factory Parts Manual. Another Scam was the infamous "Genuine Original Reproduction 914-6 Fender Flares". AA advertised that they had developed Genuine Original Reproduction 914-6 Fender Flares, perfect copies of the 914-1 fender flares, using the last original set of Porsche 914-6 Fender Flares in the World, and they had 100 sets packaged and in the warehouse ready for delivery. The ad said to send $500 to secure a set. After a waiting a year for them to arrive, the people who were sucked in by this scam found out that AA changed their claim and stated that they would start to build the flare sets when they had (100) orders for them, and the $500 that each Buyer had sent in was a Non-Refundable Deposit. AA claimed that the $500 deposits had been used up developing the Flare Sets, and that the actual total cost was going to be over $1300 a set, which was more than the cost of a Genuine Original Set of Porsche 914-6 Fenders Flares which were still available (for about $900 a set). AND THEN, there was the 904 Reproduction Scam. AA claimed that they had completed development and had for sale a perfect 904 reproduction body/chassis set and complete cars for sale, and that expense had been spared in development. They were advertising body sets, and complete cars for sale. Not a single set of production grade body panels or completed car were ever delivered, and I don't remember hearing of a single person ever getting all of their money back.

Very interesting. I can relate! A number of years ago I ordered an original factory dash from them after they claimed they had one in stock ready to ship. Paid for it with my CC and waited and waited and waited. Subsequent phone calls to them were met with the standard '2 more weeks' reply. Finally, after about 2-3 months of run around, I turned it over to the CC company for refund action. A short time later, the new dash appeared on my door step. It was then that I learned how valuable a CC can be. Lessons learned. _________________ 1981 931 (Concours)

| In one of the few Club 924 newsletters that I actually got, AA ran an ad for parts from "The Lost 914 Parts Warehouse" They claimed that they bought the contains of a warehouse used by VWoA to store Porsche Parts when they had the marketing agreement with Porsche to sell Porsches in the US before Porsche opened their open marketing operation. The parts were supposed to be mostly discontinued, no-longer-available NLA NOS Genuine Porsche Parts for older Porsches. I ordered $275 worth of parts. I got charged $75 when the actual cost of UPS Ground Shipping was less than $25. I ended up returning most of the parts because they were not as described. I made close to 24 phone calls before I placed the order to verify and confirm that the parts I would be getting would be the exact ones I needed in brand new, factory fresh condition. What I was sent was used, rusty, junk (in most cases). I did get some carpet pieces, but they were the wrong color, from the wrong year, and when I was supposed to get lefts and rights, I got all left hand pieces. I called and got Return Authorization, and sent the stuff back for less than $20. Then while I verified that they got the stuff back using UPS Ground Tracking, they claimed that they never got the stuff for 3-months, then changed their claim to: I sent the stuff back too late to get a refund, then finally sent me a Credit Slip for some of the money (no refund for the outrageous shipping or the return shipping although this was all their fault). They refused to give me a straight refund or credit to my credit card, and wanted another $75 shipping charge for me to use the partial credit that they gave me. At the same time, they were sending me advertising trying to get me to renew membership in Club 924, although I never saw membership benefits from the 2 years I already paid for. |

There is a reason why AA keeps changing screen names on eBay, and selling things under the names of some of the employees.
Hint: It isn't because they have developed a good reputation for fair shipping costs, reasonable delivery times, good products, or good customer service. |
